Its gotta get better

oh,, I guess I am having one of those days.
I talked to dad this morning. He just isn't doing any better. He sounds so down and not himself. Is it weird for me to say I miss my dad? I do.. I know he is still alive and trying to get better but I miss him. I miss the weekly calls, the sharing of photos, being able to just talk about this or that and knowing that he was there.
Since he has been in the hospital, he hasn't had a computer and he is very weak so talking on the phone is hard. He has a hard time holding the phone to talk.
I guess I am just having one of those days of reflection where I am realizing what dad means to me. I came across one of his emails in my inbox the other day when I was cleaning out my email. I couldn't bring myself to erase it. One of dad's great joys was sending jokes and his photos he had taken. I miss that so much
I just need a good cry. I will be better soon.. I pray that dad will be too.
thanks for listening to my woes,, friends.

That must be hard. My mother is 85 and still healthy but I know how distraught I'd be if she got sick. And of course, at her age, she will eventually.
Your father isn't that old, and they can really do a lot with heart disease these days. So don't be discouraged.

You need to know that you have many people praying for you and your father. Everything is easier with friend that care and you are blessed with many of those. Your dad is so lucky to have such a loving and caring daughter. Many people never experience that.

Hope you dad feels better soon! Is there any way your dad can get a laptop to use? Most have WiFi now. That way you could send him photos and it would boost his spirits a bit.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I was able to get some more information on dad and it has made me feel better. We are looking into getting him a laptop or ipod to help with the boredom.

Well Shannalee- the GOOD news is that he is still alive so that you can tell him how much he means to you. So often people don't get (or take) that opportunity. Even if a family member "knows" how you feel, it still means a lot to actually "hear" it- so while you still have him in your life, make sure you tell him how much you love him. That will make both of you feel good and you will not have any regrets in the end.
Thinking of you-
Cadie
